This principals course outlines the various aspects of rail stability. In particular the presentation will focus on rail cant and rail rollover. Additionally, items such as rail and wheel profile, as well as, rail seat abrasion will be discussed on how they affect rail stability. Maintenance practices such as grinding and tie replacement will also be discussed on how they affect rail stability.
