Abstract:
Machine Vision: A Closer Look
Machine Vision started in the 1960’s as a new branch of computer science, with influences from Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics and Signal Processing. Over the years, it has evolved to multiple uses for manufacturing, medicine and industrial operations. This presentation will cover the basic hardware and algorithm development tools that make up machine vision systems for the rail industry. How are these new tools being used? What are the future possibilities?
