Biography: David William Davis is the President of NSH USA Corporation in Albany, New York. NSH USA is part of the NSH Group, a $400 million annual revenue global manufacturer of special machines tools for the aerospace, automotive and railway industries. For over 30 years, Davis has been involved in Precision Manufacturing primarily with the design and build of Computer Controlled machine tools and measuring systems. Prior to NSH USA, Davis worked for a German photonics manufacturer Jenoptik where he was Manager of Corporate Development and CEO of a Jenoptik US subsidiary. He was also CEO of Precitech, a manufacturer of ultra-precision machines and metrology systems used to produce complex optical components found in photolithography stepper equipment, surveillance systems, and consumer electronics.
Davis served as President of the American Society for Precision Engineering, has been an invited keynote speaker at the Japan Machine Tool Engineering Conference as well as presented key papers at the European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology. He holds patents in such diverse fields as Liquid Crystal Display development (Motorola), and ultra precision machining processes (Precitech).
His academic qualifications include a B.S. in Industrial and Operations Engineering with a minor in German Language and Literature from the University of Michigan as well as an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is actively engaged in work force development and technical education via his efforts as a scholarship sponsor and technical advisor for Hudson Valley Community College's Advanced Manufacturing Technology Program and as co-chair of the capital campaign to expand the physical plant and facilities for this program.
