Biography: Dr. Jiandong Jiang is a Research & Analysis Officer for Freight Access and Performance, Transport for NSW in Sydney. Freight Access and Performance manages and delivers compliance policies for noise and air emissions, promotion of changes to regulations and compliance programs to enhance effectiveness while reducing overheads for operators and regulators, implementation of a rail noise strategy, and freight network access arrangements for the NSW Metropolitan Rail Network.

Jiandong has spent 16 years in research and practice for mitigating railway noise. In the past 5 years he has been focused on solving wheel squeal at the source through improving the steering performance of 3-piece bogies.

Dr. Jiang has a Bachelor of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering from the Xian Jiaotong University.
