Biography:

Carson Schmidt is Project Supervisor - Rail Asset Maintenance for BC Rapid Transit Company (BCRTC), which operates and maintains the Expo and Millennium lines of Vancouver’s SkyTrain system.

He began his work at BCRTC in 2002 as a Guideway Technician and is currently a Project Supervisor for special track work and rail asset renewal projects. During his time at BCRTC, Carson spent most of his time inspecting and prioritizing asset replacement and methodology design. Carson has been extensively involved with the development of a system turnout replacement programs, as well as the development of maintenance/ repair planning prioritization. He has managed productivity and the increase in system reliability, improvements to track switch maintenance, including the replacement of 44 turnouts throughout the system to date, and BCRTC’s state of good repair initiative.
