Dr. Richard Stock

LINSINGER

Biography: Richard Stock is Milling Technology Manager for LINSINGER Austria and LINMAG Rail Milling. He is responsible for promoting LINSINGER milling technology in North America and providing support with respect to rail/wheel contact-related problems.

Prior to his work at LINMAG, Richar worked for 12 years at voestalpine in Austria in the R&D department where he was responsible for rail grade selection, wear and RCF-related issues, as well as managing university collaborations.

He was seconded to KELSAN Technologies (now LB Foster Rail Technologies) in Vancouver to further research collaboration between Kelsan/LB Foster and voestalpine Schienen. He subsequently joined LB Foster Rail Technologies as Rail Technology Manager, a position in which he was responsible for various R&D processes and projects, managing university collaborations and technical customer interaction. He also led the Application Engineering group to support and analyze field trials.

Richard holds a masters and PhD in material sciences from the University of Leoben, Austria. He is a member of AREMA Committee 4 and the APTA ‐ Track and Noise/Vibration Technical Forum.
